Access Services Staff Directory

Access Services has staff and operations in all of the library system’s libraries and resource centers, including Purdy/Kresge, Science and Engineering, David Adamany Undergraduate, Oakland Center, the Shiffman Medical, and Neef Law. The mission of Access Services is to provide equivalent and timely access to all information resources needed to support the University’s research, teaching and learning goals. Access provides information resources for use on campus, at extension centers, at home or throughout the state, in whatever format is appropriate; utilizing whatever method of delivery is appropriate and most effective.

Access is composed of the following teams:

Circulation Team– Supervises circulation services for the campus libraries and is dedicated to providing equivalent and uniform services across the library system, including the Law and Medical campuses. Problems with circulation services can be addressed to circulation@lists.wayne.edu.

Interlibrary Loan – Provides interlibrary loan services to the campus community utilizing a variety of methods and formats, focused on the quick delivery of materials not owned by the WSU libraries. The initiatives under the direction of this team include MiLE (Michigan Library Exhange), ILLiad (patron initiated ILL) and traditional borrowing and lending of hard to find materials.

Course Reserves and Electronic Course Reserves- Provides faculty with course reserves services in both the traditional, paper format available at the Check Out desks of the libraries, and also, increasingly in electronic format to enable the students greater access to materials through the web.

Materials Access - provides services relating to the stacks and their maintenance, including re-shelving, preservation, and searches for missing materials.
